Rei Williams started his music career with the 6Th US army band at Presidio in San Francisco, and was a reservist for over 10 years with the National Guard Band (mostly in the Bay Area). He loves playing all types of music, but the standards are his favorite genre (the music of the 30’s, 40”s, and 50’s).
He says that performing with the “Pay it Forward Band”, gives him the opportunity to deeply touch elderly people because this is the music they grew up with. "Watching them dancing, singing along and clapping their hands makes me feel special and I like having the opportunity to work with the many young musicians in this band". Rei says he feels a responsibility to keep the music of this generation alive, passing it on to this next generation. As a much sought after piano teacher he serves this mission in that way as well.
Always in demand, Rei gigs a lot, performing all over the Southland. When not performing he is usually on the freeway on his way to the next gig. It is not unusual for Rei to do five or six gigs a weekend. Of course he does studio work as well, and is an accomplished Arranger and Music Director. His swing band, "The Master Touch Band", is highly regarded. Check them and him out on his web site at: http://www.mastertouchproductions.com
